The goal of Forever’s Prayer team is to:
• communicate prayer needs within YWAM and to invite YWAM to pray, especially during 2012;
• provide an avenue for Christians to pray for the 2012 Olympics;
• support the spiritual health of the Forever Team;
• create opportunities to bring evangelism and prayer together.
If the other areas of Forever are the bricks of the structure we are building, then prayer is the mortar that goes around them and throughout the entire structure. Prayer holds it all together.
Prayer is probably the most important tool we have when reaching out to the nation. Not only in terms of praying behind the scenes, but actually going out and praying directly for people.
We will be seeking to establish prayer-based teams who will partner with local prayer initiatives and churches and will provide foundations for future work in the Olympic host cities.
Also, prayer will be a key foundation of each team released by the other focus areas.
Prayer will also be an important feature of many of our short-term outreach teams. Sometimes it will be used as an actual outreach tool – for instance, in the setting up and running or prayer stations on city streets. Other times, it will be used more as a preparation tool for future teams to the city, doing things such as prayer-walking and praying at key locations around a city.
But whatever the format, prayer will be a crucial part of all we do in releasing teams.
We are working with More Than Gold, an organisation that is bringing Christian organisations together for the 2012 Olympics. We are also looking to partner with 24/7 prayer houses and boiler rooms. Within YWAM, we are starting to coordinate prayer with other centres in the UK network and also the wider YWAM world.
If you are involved in prayer ministry and would be interested in either joining or pioneering one of our Prayer teams contact us on info@forever2012.com .
If you are interested in bringing or hosting a prayer-based team for the Olympic outreach, contact us on info@forever2012.com .
Teams have a booth at New Age festivals to pray for people; get words of knowledge, and pray for healing. In the future we’d also like to explore how we can move from festivals to a more regular set-up.
Unlike any prayer walk you’ve ever done! We want to take it to the next level by going on a tour bus, complete with commentary about the needs of various areas around the city and stops in key places. We are hoping to plan tours for both central London and east London, the site of the Olympics.

We want to have these set up in each Olympic city so there is constant prayer wherever the games might be. These might not necessarily be run by YWAM, but we want to be linked into this network.
