In a city as large as London, there are any number of injustices – human trafficking, prostitution, homelessness, poverty. Add a global event such as the Olympics, and the spotlight on social justice issues only increases.
Our heart is to partner with ministries that are already doing work in the Olympic cities to support them in their efforts, as well as educate, equip and inspire others to fight injustice. We would like to plant a Forever team in East London that will be a YWAM ministry long after the Olympics have ended.
We are partnering with a number of social justice organisations – Stop the Traffik, The Salvation Army, Beyond the Streets, Hope for Justice, CARE and Azalea – as well as with the global YWAM network.
If you are interested in bringing or hosting a Social-Justice-based team for the Olympic outreach, contact us on info@forever2012.com
Several churches we are in conversation with have plans to open their doors as night shelters for those on the streets. There will be lots of opportunities to feed and serve the needs of the homeless.
We have plans to set up a safe house in London where women involved in prostitution can come during the day to rest, hang out and have their needs cared for. Teams could come and do prayer walks for the neighbourhoods where the women work.
