Forever's first team plant into London!
Esther's House is born out of Forever's Social Justice focus area, and is a ministry to prostitutes and those involved in human trafficking, particularly of the sex workers.
Based in Stratford, in the East End of London, the team is just a javelin's throw from the Olympic Park.
The project may be more brothel-based or working with existing women on the streets, as the Police will be cleaning the streets close to the Olympic Park. Esther's House will also work with the Street Pastors scheme and the Police, and link up with other projects in London.
Among the plans are to start a drop-in centre and then a tea-shop where the women who’ve successfully gone through the exit programme can work for a salary.
Esther's House will also be providing some opportunities for short-term outreaches during this Olympic year. One is to help to establish a Salvation Army church in the Stratford area. It won’t be a church that fits into a traditional mould, but for those on the margins of society. Other areas for short-term outreaches could include going onto the streets at night and doing street evangelism and street prayer-walking, and serving the churches in Stratford.
Beyond Stratford, Social Justice outreach possibilities include helping with homeless projects in Manchester, teenage mums, refugees in Newcastle, and working with those on the margins of society, and raising awareness of the trafficking problem.
Esther's House is a partnership between Azalea, a ministry working with prostitutes in Luton, and Youth With A Mission (YWAM) England and Wales. Azalea provides the skills training and policies, and YWAM the support.

The team is looking for people – not just people to work with the women, but also good administrators, prayer networkers, and people to raise awareness of the trafficking problem. Contact Forever on info@forever2012.com.
