Outreach during the Games (24 July-10 September 2012)

For the period of the Games, we are organising mission conferences that include an outreach section. (To view the training section of the mission conference, click here.)

There are many ways you can get involved in Forever during the Games themselves. For instance:

• You could host one or more outreach teams. (These could be teams from the UK or from anywhere in the world!) 
• You could lead an outreach team. It could be a team from your local church(es), a YWAM team from a YWAM centre, or a YWAM school team on outreach (see box at bottom).
• You can be part of an outreach team. Again, it could be a team from your local church(es), a YWAM team from a YWAM centre, or a YWAM school team on outreach (see box at bottom).
• You can join a Just Go outreach, a partnership between YWAM England and Soul Survivor. Just Go outreaches are aimed at young people, youth groups and whole families, and will take place 22 July-5 August, to include most of the first week of the Olympic outreach. To find out more, click here.

Dates

However you want to get involved during the Games, we are dividing the period of the Games into the following weeks:

Week 1: 24/25 July-3 August (24 July for Gold and Silver; 25 July for
Bronze)
Week 2: 3 August-13 August
Week 3: 29 August-10 September (Paralympics)

Each week comprises the mission conference, with on-site training (click here to view the training programme) followed by the outreach. You can come for one, two or all three of the weeks.

Costs

_{Please note that registration costs £75 per person, except for those from YWAM-designated Region B and C countries.}

Families

For families who are coming to the outreach, where the children are aged under 16 and are not participants in the outreach, the following applies:

• Child registration for children aged under 16 is £25 per person.
• The maximum that a family can pay for their children is £50 per family.

This rate does not apply to children who are part of an outreach team, such as a King's Kids team.

Transport

Transport costs will be different for each venue and team. Teams based at a church for the whole outreach will have minimal transport costs, as will teams based in some of the smaller cities.

Not all our London outreach teams will be based in a church; some will be living at the YWAM Harpenden centre and commuting in each day. For these teams, we are negotiating transport costs for London, but here is our current best prices for train journeys from Harpenden to the Stratford area:

• Adults: £98 for 7 days
• Children: £1 per day

Please note also that transport to and from airports is the responsibility of the outreach team and is not included in the figures on this page.

Application

Please note that all applications are processed in teams; we cannot accept applications from individuals. If you are not yet part of a team, please contact us on info@forever2012.com  and we will connect you to a team near you.

Visas

Visitors from outside the EU will need a visa to enter the UK. Some nations can obtain their visa on arrival in the UK, but most will need to obtain their visas BEFORE travelling. Please CLICK HERE to check whether your nationals need visas before travelling.

You will NOT be able to enter the UK on a TOURIST visa. You will need to obtain a BUSINESS VISITOR visa, and state that you are coming to the UK to attend a missions conference.

Forever has an official letter of approval which any individual visitors or visiting team will need to present to the British embassy/consulate in their country to ensure their visa application is successful. Please send an email to info@forever2012.com with the words "Visa letter" in the Subject.

Disclaimer

While Forever will endeavour to link outreach teams with suitable host churches, in some cases this may not prove possible. This is likely to be owing either to a lack of available churches able to host certain types of teams, or to a lack of outreach teams with requested skills or focus. In such cases, we will do our best to make as good a match as we can. In some situations, we may not be able to provide a host church or an outreach team at all, especially if there are more of one than the other for a particular week.
